Beliefs With so many sects and religions springing up, we want to make it clear that the beliefs of Ormskirk Christian Fellowship are rooted in and consistent with the traditional and historical Christian faith. Our beliefs centre around Jesus Christ as Son of God, and that God has made himself known to us through the Bible, which is infallible. In it God declares His deep and personal love and interest in us, and has shown it by giving the Lord Jesus Christ to die that we might be forgiven and have eternal life. We believe in living a life-style, with the help of the Holy Spirit, which is pleasing to God, and caring to others. For a fuller explanation of our teachings and beliefs, see the statement of faith below. |

Worship God has blessed us with gifted musicians, who naturally play a part in leading Sunday Worship. Our style of worship is designed to allow you to give your best to God, or if you are only there as an observer, to relax and take everything in. We believe worship is for the purpose of praising and pleasing our great God, that He ought to be given our heartfelt love, and that He is glad to bless us. Therefore, although the leaders are supervising the meetings, we want you to feel free to stand or sit as you please. Members of the church contribute to our services rather than leaving it up to the leaders to do everything. |

Meetings Our Sunday meetings are usually lively, beginning at 10:30am and ending about 12 noon. We meet in the main lecture theatre (E1) within the Faculty of Education at Edge Hill University, and are always glad to welcome visitors. 'Kids Church' takes place in a nearby classroom during the second part of the service. There is also a youth group, which meet at the same time. Locations of other meetings in the week, are usually announced on Sundays. We, as a church, do not own a building, and during the week smaller groups will meet in the homes of church members to pray, worship, study the scriptures and enjoy being together. Most church members join in these activities which are led by committed and gifted men and women in the church. Beginners groups and elementary bible studies are also a feature of our regular church life, as well as periodical ‘special classes’ (e.g. for those wishing to be baptised, or become church members). |
